Christopher Bavaria
I have been taking pictures since I was 13 and my father put me in charge of the camera on our family vacation. I then immersed myself in my local punk scene, taking photos of bands— something that has taken me around the world many times over and has led to my work being published everywhere from Playboy to AOL.
At the same time, I received a BA in Art/Photography from Millersville University and an MFA in documentary photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Following grad school I moved back to the East Coast and continued working in photojournalism and portraiture for a wide range of clients. Regardless of the environment, my work is always rooted in the lived experience. This work has been shown internationally through outlets such as The Travel Channel, NPR, Brooklyn Vegan, Expedia and Juxtapoz Magazine, and in galleries and museums in San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Berlin, and Stockholm.
